Preventive PAD screening — noninvasive assessment of blood flow in the lower extremities to detect peripheral artery disease early. Uses ABI measurements and duplex ultrasound to identify arterial narrowing before symptoms progress.
Indications
Leg pain or cramping when walking
Diabetes
Smoking history
High blood pressure or cholesterol
Family history of vascular disease
Symptoms
- Leg fatigue or heaviness
- Cramping in calves, thighs, or hips
- Slow-healing wounds on feet or legs
- Cold feet or toes
